Located in beautiful Santa Rosa, California, Camp Newman is an overnight Jewish summer camp for kids ages 7-17. Committed to building a community of acceptance, we role model positive behaviors and acknowledge that each and every member of the community is vital and important. We live by the value of b’tzelem Elohim, meaning that each person at camp has a specific set of needs, feelings, hopes, and dreams. With this mission in mind, each summer, we strive to empower our campers to better themselves, their communities, and the world.
One of Newman's greatest strengths is building a sense of community and opportunities for kids to develop strong relationships with other campers.
My kid returned from camp glowing and happy, and keeps talking about friends he made and how he wants to go back next summer. What else can I ask for, really?
Kaylee was “over by the moon” with her experience at camp. Her mother attended 20 years ago so there is history there. Kaylee lives with me, her grandmother.
We absolutely feel that Camp Newman is the only camp for Sophie. She loves her time there, the activities, Shabbat, the counselors and most importantly, her friends :). They are already planning their next summer.
